Scope: This finding aid acts as a pathfinder for researchers studying Philadelphians, their relationships, and their physical surroundings since the consolidation of the city and the county in 1854.

Philadelphia CrimeBase:  CrimeBase is a publicly-accessible, web-based, geographic data application developed by the University of Pennsylvania's Cartographic Modeling Lab.

Education

PA Department of Education Data and Statistics: "The Pennsylvania Department of Education compiles and analyzes a wide variety of information about schools, student progress, graduation rates, school districts, and other useful statistics."

Philadelphia Inquirer's Report Card on the Schools (2008-2010) 

School District Demographics System by the National Center for Education Statistics: "The School District Demographics System (SDDS) is a Web-based resource operated by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) of the U.S. Department of Education. SDDS enables access to school district demographic and related geographic data that is not available in any other form."

American Fact Finder: From the U.S. Census Bureau, easy access to various community statistical data. 

Kids Count Data Center: Provides statistical data on families and children both at the national and local level. Includes information on income, education, health, etc. 

Pennsylvania State Data Center : Contains a lot of useful data on Pennsylvania (Excel and PDF file format).

Philadelphia 2013: The State of the City : Published as part of the The Pew Charitable Trusts' Philadelphia Research Inititiative, this report "presents a multi-dimensional, fact-based portrait of America's fifth-largest city through 81 graphics drawn from a wide range of sources".
