Web Resources for Latin American Studies

  • Hispanic Reading Room - from the Library of Congress
This website provides links to sponsored online materials including the Reading Room's Selected Links to Resources and Online Collections, and LOC's Portals to the World: Iberia, the Caribbean, and Latin America. LOC's Federal Research Division also has some useful sites: Country Studies on individual countries and "continents," i.e., "The Americas," as well as the Handbook of Latin American Studies (HLAS Online).
  • United States Department of State Background Notes/Country Fact Sheets - As of May 2012, Background Notes are no longer being updated or produced. They are in the process of being replaced by Fact Sheets that focus on U.S. relations with each country. The link to each document from anywhere on www.state.gov or on any other site, as a bookmark, etc., will remain the same, whether it appears as a Background Note or when it is replaced by a Fact Sheet.
